Focus on: charity competition winners of 2015 Animal Rescue Cumbria

Since winning our annual charity competition last year, Animal Rescue Cumbria have been using their chosen displays to raise awareness of the important work they do and to help raise vital funds.

last year's charity competition winners

With their £300 prize winnings they purchased a printed branded tablecloth, a pavement board sign, a feather flag and a banner stand!

Kerry Hazlegrave, Fundraising Trustee for Animal Rescue Cumbria said: “Since winning the promotional material we have attended several fundraising events.

“The team feel so proud and confident that they now look more professional whilst out and about in the community. They definitely stand out in the crowd. We had nothing like this before winning the competition and it means so much to us. We even used the tablecloth as a back drop for our team picture it looks great.

“Animal Rescue Cumbria and its four legged residents would like to thank you again for giving us this opportunity and help our charity get recognised.”

Making an impact

We’re proud to continue to support charities through our annual charity competition which is now in its sixth year. Last year, Animal Rescue Cumbria put in a lot of effort into their prize-winning entry telling us what impact winning £300 worth of displays would have on their charity, sending us this touching poem which not only saw them through to the final public vote but also touched many people.

The homeless pets pour through ARC’s door,
(It’s hard to stem the flow).
But donations are running dry,
Our bank balance is low.

We vaccinate each dog and cat,
We neuter, worm, de-flea.
Each animal’s kept warm and fed
And heaped with TLCHeart

To carry on our vital work
We need to spread the word.
“Our animals depend on you!”
The message must be heard

Our pop-up banner’s fallen down,
Our notice boards are old and sad.
They do not catch the public’s eye,
We need some new ones, real bad!

A rain proof board or coloured sign
To tell the public what ARC does.
£300 would do the trick,
Our cats and dogs say “vote for us!”

And vote for them in your hundreds you did!

So thank you to everybody who voted in last year’s public vote, you’ve helped Animal Rescue Cumbria to make a big impact and refresh their displays.

Keep an eye on our blog from Monday 26 September to Friday 30 September to vote for the winner of our 2016 competition.
