Roller banner stand and Pop up display standSo you’ve just secured your place to exhibit at an upcoming conference or exhibition. Well done! Exhibiting is an exciting opportunity to showcase your product, charity or services and gain some valuable face-to-face time with your potential clients or supporters.

If you’re new to the world of exhibition stand display products, then it’s easy to feel bamboozled by terminology from pull ups to pop ups to roll ups. What’s the difference between these and how do you know what’s right for you?

Pull up – aka the roller banner stand

In the portable exhibition stand industry, a ‘pull up’ or ‘roll up’ banner is a roller banner stand. They’re generally the staple ingredient for any exhibition or event and you’ll see tonnes of them around!

Size wise, roller banner stands can range from about 800 to 2000mm wide, which means that they offer the perfect solution if space is a premium at your event.

Assembly couldn’t be simpler as the graphic rolls out of the base unit and is attached using either a telescopic, or 3 part bungee pole from the top of the graphic to the base unit.

Why choose roller banners?

  • Simple to assemble
  • Takes up minimal floor space
  • Easy to transport
  • Rolls away into its base unit for ease of storage
  • Inexpensive solution
  • Variety of base units available to suit your needs.

Pop up – aka the Pop-up display stand

A ‘pop up’ is much larger than a roller banner stand but it’s still portable!

Available in a variety of sizes, pop ups are generally over 2000mm wide and take up much more floor space. Assembly is straight forward with a frame that ‘pops up’ using a lattice-like structure with graphics secured using magnetic strips or another fastening system.

Marler Haley’s counters that come with pop ups as standard also neatly double up as storage for the display, fitting all of its accessories in too! This means that you can use it as a counter during the show and transport your whole display stand away with ease afterward.

You will often see pop ups being used as a backdrop in shell schemes, or alongside roller banner stands to complement messages.

Why choose pop ups?

  • One person easy assembly
  • Large visual display that’s great for backdrops or instant branding
  • Folds down for convenient storage
  • Easily transportable
  • Variety of sizes available depending on your needs and budget.
